Dyersburg State Community College is delighted to announce an exciting art exhibit featuring the works of local artists Jenny Brandon and Tammy Langlois. Their artwork will be displayed at the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington from April 4 through June 16, 2025.
An artists’ reception will be held at the Jimmy Naifeh Center on Monday, April 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Learning Resource Center’s Ripley Power and Light lobby. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to meet these talented artists.
Jenny Brandon and Tammy Langlois both embrace organic painting practices across various media. Tammy’s contributions to the exhibit primarily consist of delicate depictions of nature scenes that reflect her upbringing in Tipton County, where she was surrounded by diverse wildlife. With a passion for art that began in her youth, Tammy now shares her love of painting by teaching various art classes throughout the Mid-South, including at Liberty Vintage Marketplace and Creative Aging.
Jenny Brandon began her artistic journey only a few years ago after retiring from a 25-year teaching career in Ripley. She is dedicated to diversifying her portfolio as she enjoys the challenge of painting across multiple media, particularly the vibrant world of abstracts and monoprints using gel plates.
Jenny and Tammy, who became friends three years ago through the Tipton Art League, are still active members. The League aims to enhance the professional growth of its member artists through exhibitions, workshops, and continuing education. Utilizing these events in more ways than one, the Tipton Art League strives to educate and entertain the community by showcasing original fine art and participating in different art activities.
