Dr. Amanda Walker
Vice President for External Affairs
As the Vice President of External Affairs, Dr. Walker leads the areas of Advancement (Annual Fund and Foundation activities), Athletics, Marketing & Public Relations, Alumni Affairs, Workforce Development, and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. Dr. Walker has 18+ years of higher education experience, which helps her lead and mentor her teams. In addition, as Vice President of External Affairs, Dr. Walker works to advance the College’s mission by increasing the reach and impact of the institutional work by enhancing its overall reputation for excellence, building and fostering relationships with key audiences and partners, strengthening communications, promoting strategic partnerships, and expanding relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, and other influencers. Dr. Walker stated, “My role is essential to the college; I focus on engaging individual and corporate support through fundraising, friend-raising, and creating opportunities for our students through community partnerships.”
Dr. Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration/Student Personnel from The University of Mississippi and a Doctor of Education from Delta State University in Professional Studies in Higher Education Administration.
