Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is excited to announce the appointment of Dusty Rhodes as the new interim head coach of the Lady Eagles softball program. Rhodes, who joined the Eagles in the spring of 2024 as the Assistant Baseball Coach and Pitching Coach, brings a wealth of experience and success to his new role.

A native of Parsons, Tennessee, Coach Rhodes has an impressive coaching resume in high school baseball, amassing 197 wins against only 57 losses. Under his leadership, Decatur Co. Riverside captured three consecutive state championships from 2010 to 2012, alongside a runner-up finish in 2009. Coach Rhodes’s success continued as his championship pedigree helped Haywood Co. achieve its first-ever state tournament appearance in 2019.

In recognition of his coaching achievements, Rhodes has been honored with multiple state Coach of the Year awards, including the prestigious Max Prep’s National Coach of the Year in 2012. Coach Rhodes’s impact on his players extends beyond the years spent in his dugout. Nineteen former players have gone on to sign with various colleges, showcasing his commitment to the development of young athletes.

Rhodes is a proud alumnus of Bethel University, where he played from 1986 to 1990, earning all-conference honors in his junior and senior years and being named Bethel MVP in 1990. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1991.

Rhodes is also a dedicated family man. He has two daughters, Presley, who attends the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Payton, a University of Tennessee Chattanooga student.

Dyersburg State Community College congratulates Coach Rhodes on his new role and looks forward to an exciting season ahead as he leads the Lady Eagles into a promising future.
