Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) is thrilled to recognize its student-athletes who received the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) L. Quentin Lane for Academic Excellence and Achievement Award and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Award. Award eligibility and designation are based on the student-athlete GPA. Recipients recognized by the NJCAA fall into three subgroups: Diamond Team (4.0 GPA), Second Team (3.50 – 3.99 GPA), and Third Team (3.00 – 3.49 GPA). The recipients recognized by the TCCAA fall into two subgroups: First Team (4.0 – 3.50 GPA) and Second Team (3.49 – 3.00).

The TCCAA recognized a total of 46 Dyersburg State athletes, while 22 of those athletes were recognized by the NJCAA. The complete list of recognized athletes is as follows:

TCCAA First Team:

– Baseball: Brady Jones, Aidan Karns, Parker Patterson, and Amir Streeter

– Softball: Emmie Bullington, Kelsey Camp, Chloe Jones, Remington Pankey, Breanna Ramsey, and Sarah Stricklin

– Men’s Basketball: Haydn Moten and Henry Phillips

Dyersburg State’s Women’s Basketball and Soccer Teams received the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year Award for having the highest cumulative GPAs in the state. The women’s Basketball Team had a cumulative GPA of 3.31, and the Women’s Soccer Team had a cumulative GPA of 3.32.

Furthermore, DSCC would like to recognize Jurni Montague for receiving the TCCAA L. Quentin Lane Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence for Women’s Soccer for the 2023-2024 academic year. The L. Quentin Lane Pinnacle Award is awarded to an individual student-athlete in each sport with the highest GPA in the state.
