Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) proudly acknowledges three honors students, Wendy Torres-Garcia, Hailey Morgan, and Grayce Shaver, who are set to complete their honors coursework this semester. These dedicated students showcased their capstone projects in a compelling presentation on November 22, demonstrating their commitment to educational excellence.

As part of their academic experience, this Honors program cohort had the outstanding opportunity to visit the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) to gain insight into their esteemed honors program and tour the campus. The experience greatly benefited their understanding of the academic landscape and broadened their horizons.

Throughout the semester, these students engaged in self-directed research and developed their poster presentations, which were informative and visually captivating. We encourage the community to visit the Learning Resource Center Lobby on the Dyersburg campus, where the students’ posters remain displayed until December 9.

These students’ impressive accomplishments were made possible by the support of their dedicated faculty and staff sponsors, Dr. Segars, Brent Fonville, and Renee Long. They are currently finalizing their coursework under the expert guidance of Dr. Barham and Wayne Corlis, ensuring an excellent conclusion to their academic journey at Dyersburg State Community College.

The dedication, hard work, and achievements of Morgan, Grayce, and Wendy highlight the potential of students at DSCC. “Morgan, Grayce, and Wendy have worked hard to complete four honors courses and have done an outstanding job on their honors capstone projects. They are excellent examples of the future leaders graduating from DSCC,” stated Dr. Brian Wells, Chair of the Honors Committee.

We sincerely congratulate Wendy, Grayce, and Morgan for their remarkable achievements and eagerly anticipate each student’s success in their future endeavors. For more information about Dyersburg State’s Honors program, please contact Dr. Brian Wells at wells@dscc.edu or
