Students will participate in a professional practice experience, which must be hospital-based and provide valuable exposure to a healthcare setting under the supervision of an approved preceptor. Courses may include: Introduction to Health Information Management, Coding and Classification Systems, and Healthcare Reimbursement. 

Dyersburg State will offer a new Medical Coding and Billing Certificate beginning Fall of 2025.
