The Empire Rental Group team claimed the traveling crystal cup during the Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) annual Ed Lannom, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, November 1, at the Lenox Event and Golf Company in Dyersburg.

Twenty-four teams competed in the annual event. Dot Foods, Dr. Buck Tarpley, and Trenton Mills were the platinum sponsors. Thanks to BSN Sports for donating the golf towels for the gift boxes.

Tournament winners were recognized in two flights of play and winners of special contests, including a closest to the pin contest and the longest drive contest.

The Empower Rental Group team, which included team members David Greer, Rodney Harrison, Ryan Lowrance, and Mark Jagello, won the first flight overall. Team RG Construction, which included Richie Gammons, Ryan Gammons, Matt Madden, and Zach Bell, placed second. Heights Finance, which included team members Mike Mangrum, Steve Caldwell, Brian Lee, and Tony Carson, placed third.

The First Citizens National Bank team, consisting of Jeff Agee, Matt Ross, Brent Neil, and Joe Enoch, took first-place honors in the second flight of play. Team Tim, including Tim Byars, Rich Lewis, Roger Bell, Sr., and Scott Carter, took second place. The Trenton Mills team, consisting of Richard Donner, Kenny Brunson, Kenneth Hartfield, and Regina Moore, came in third.

Erin Welch was the winner of the longest-drive contest. Rodney Harrison was the closest-to-the-pin contest winner.

DSCC concluded the tournament with a drawing for the early bird registration prize. Richie Gammons won the gas grill donated by Lowe’s of Dyersburg. “We would like to extend a special thanks to all sponsors, participants, and volunteers for your continued support of Dyersburg State,” said Dr. Amanda Walker, Vice President of External Affairs.

DSCC’s annual golf tournament is named in memory of Ed Lannom, Jr., a longtime supporter of the College. All proceeds from the event benefit student-athletes with scholarships and support for athletic programs.
