Requirements

Eligibility requirements may vary for each financial aid program, but there are a number of general eligibility requirements common to each.

  1. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year.
  2. Students must have “financial need” which is determined by subtracting the student aid index as determined by the FAFSA from the cost of attendance.
  3. Students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens.
  4. Students must have a valid Social Security number.
  5. Students must enroll as regular students in an eligible program of study and be degree seeking.
  6. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress as measured by the Office of Financial Aid.
  7. Students must have a high school diploma or GED.
  8. Students cannot receive financial aid for more than the first 30 credit hours attempted in learning support classes.
  9. Students cannot be in default on a student loan or owe a money back on a federal student grant.
  10. Students may not receive financial aid for attendance at more than one school for the same period of time.
