Actual Tuition and Fees

Students pay mandatory fees to support student activities, athletics, cultural opportunities, and other unique projects and programs. Those fees vary from institution to institution and are paid by all students regardless of the number of hours they take. Maintenance fees are the charges based on credit hours for in-state students. For example, a student pays a flat rate for the first 12 hours of class credits and a discounted rate for any additional hours. Most academic programs require students to complete at least 15 hours a semester to finish on time. Out-of-state students are required to pay tuition in addition to maintenance fees. The combined cost of these fees or tuition result in the total price a student must pay.

Cost of Attendance for 2024-2025

There are different factors that are considered when calculating your estimated cost of attendance. If you feel that your cost of attendance needs to be reviewed because of any additional expenses during the enrollment period, such as childcare costs, laptops, and supplies, then you can complete the 2023-2024 Cost of Attendance Adjustment Request form or, for 2024-2025, complete the 2024-2025 Cost of Attendance Adjustment Request form.  Cost of Attendance reviews will take place after you complete the FAFSA, and after you receive a financial aid offer notification for the year in which you are requesting a cost of attendance adjustment.

This calculator factors in not only tuition and fees but other expenses you can expect to incur while you’re in college, including, books, supplies and even living expenses like room and board (housing and meals). Then any estimated grant and scholarship aid you may receive is subtracted from the cost to help you understand your estimated out of pocket expenses.

The information you’ll receive using a net price calculator can be helpful, but keep in mind your specific circumstances will determine your actual costs. For example, if you’ll be living at home with family, your room and board costs may be less than if you’re renting an apartment on your own.

It does not represent a final determination or actual award of financial assistance or a final net price. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for or to receive an actual financial aid award.
